#baketogether ~ Strawberry Sorbet Takes a Journey

Heading into August seems like the perfect time to round up all the FAB #baketogether ~ Sorbet YOUR WAY posts. This will give us all cooling inspiration for what’s always the hottest month of the year.. Maybe we can all take refuge in each others frozen wonders.. and may the fans and ACs keep on working!

Here’s the Original recipe and post. Everyone came up with stunning variations  yet the one thing that really struck me ~ bowled me over no less~ was the GORG colors that these variations produced.  We should do a runway show with this extensive color wheel of frozen goodness. Really.. just check ’em all out.

I’ll start.. I was dying for a taste of my pretzel crust that I used in The Weekend Baker.. tho I tweaked the recipe a bit, it still has that same buttery, sweet and salty combo that I love. I filled my lined 9-inch springform pan with a semi-creamy peach sorbet and topped slices of this bliss with fresh peaches and a touch of my Desserts 4 Today EZ Caramel. Interestingly, Jamie @lifesafeast commented that my creamy sorbet was more like a gelato – smart cookie, isn’t she. That’s what’s picture above..

Onto the good stuff..

Lead off post was from Kitchen Heals Soul  who gave us an intrigue lime-celery sorbet Something very special, I tell you.

This #baketogether showed a lot of interest in pairing fruit with summer herbs to make for some party-time fun.. oh yeah. Check out:

Bakerstreet 29’s  mango basil lime sorbet  It’s hard to believe this beauty is “no churn”. Perfect for those of us that don’t have a machine..

porkcracklins : lavender Bluebery Sorbet  As Ken @HungryRabbitNYC would say (courtesy of Kristen Chenowith) This is “Shut The … Front Door Color”. Yes it is.

Chefpandita blew the door out with two ubber colorful sorbets: Mango Ginger Lime Basil & Dragon Fruit.

Healthy Green Kitchen  offered up a heavenly lemongrass infused- berry granita. I swear I can smell it from here and it smell like sunshine.

Jolts & Jollies gave us a Blkberry-Sage Granita that I know tastes heavenly #wantsomenowpls

Foodbabbles gave us TWO versions – God bless! Strawberry,White Peach & Basil + a coconut concoction!

Adding a last minute additon to this list:

Knitstamatic created a lovely Rosemary & Blueberry number – and check out those pix.. heaven!

And some folks gave us Boozy versions —> my kinda treat!

What She’s Having offered up a Straw-Rhubarb Sorbet + a mojito chaser — I say, one of each please.

Thanks to  Dust with Flour for a boozy Strawberry granita — looks gorg!

HungryRabbitNYC pulled out all the stops with his Strawberry-Watermelon Popsicles with a touch of boozy to keep us entertained.

And Barb /Creative Culinary was a true over-achiever. She’s given us THREE Sorbet versions with Booze AND Herbs!

MyKitchenAddiction rocked it with a Hard Cherry Lemonade Sorbet

@JNerissa offers us her Violet Berry Sorbet: “It was going to be strawberry, but I didn’t have enough so I threw some blueberries and raspberries in too. I substituted Monin violet syrup for 1/2 cup of the sugar syrup and proceeded as directed by the recipe. I’ve also been thinking of trying cucumber strawberry mint. We’ll see…”

And some folks went with a creamy version.. heaven:

Eatlivetravelwrite tugged on my heart strings with a Creamy Zesty Lemon Ice Cream (with a nod to @davidlebovitz too).

Breadandputter went crazy with a Choco- Strawberry Ice cream pie.. Love this!

Courtesy of @Nancy99, we have this:  Strawberry Amaretto Cheescake pops. Simple. Made a batch of Strawberry Sorbet following the recipe given. Filled my “vintage” funky 70′s Tupperware pop molds 1/3 full(Thanks Mom for saving EVERYTHING:)). Next I made a batch of cheescake flavored ice cream featuring marscarpone, cream cheese, almond milk and what the hay, most of a small botttle of amaretto(minus the amount in one coffee thankyouverymuch!) which I adapted from a recipe that came with my Cuisinart brand ice cream maker. Filled pop molds the rest of the way, froze for about 4 hours. Upon removing pops from molds, rolled the bottom edge in some chopped toasted almonds to add a little pretty and a little crunch! http://twitpic.com/5d2evi

FoodWanderings posted a lovely, rich vanilla banana ice cream

And SugarandPickles offers a lovely cake to pair with Strawberry sorbet
